The Idea
To provide course contents and professional and applied academic teaching in partnership with regional and national institutions to enhance research and analytical capacities necessary for sustainable use of natural resources and improved food and nutrition security in the developing countries.
- GO-FAU shall function as an "open" system;
- The governance system of GO-FAU shall be transparent, efficient, and participatory;
- GO-FAU shall be demand driven;
- Established universities will play a key role in the quality of GO-FAU;
- Independent peer review will produce high-quality course material;
- Communications technologies will be carefully considered, in order to reach all potential students;
- The combination of personal coaching, E-based communication, and network building among students and lecturers will promote capacity strengthening;
- The program will be conducted not only in English, but also in different languages appropriate to the audience for each course.
